Last Thursday (October 9, 2014) I was Invited for another foodie meet up by Zomato at Akira Shangrila Plaza. Akira is a teppanyaki restaurant where they feature the art of teppanyaki; a japanese artistic style of cuisine where they use iron griddle to cook food. Akira is named after a fictional character in Japan. He is legendary teppanyaki chef who trained to fought a fire God kagutsuchi to save his beloved Sayuri, same as Akira PH teppanyaki chefs who are also trained to showcase their teppanyaki skills to cook and entertain the guest.
Akira offers premium items such as U.S. Tenderloin, U.S. Wagyu Rib-Eye, Japanese Wagyu and Kobe that can be served a la carte or a set that includes a miso soup, chicken, fried rice, shrimps and veggies but you can also order other Japanese dishes such as sushi, sashimi, ramen, tempura, tonkatsu and bentos!
Upon entering Akira, I got captivated by the interior design of the restaurant. I found out that there were already four branches of Akira in Metro Manila but the theme of every restaurant is unique, Here in Shangri-la the theme was modernized Japan while others have traditional.
