No Membership: S&R New York Pizza Cubao

S&R Membership Shopping is a famous wholesale/retail supermarket that offers imported products like food and non food items, appliances, electronics, and even a food service that makes every shopper tempted to eat there. Why? Who doesn't want a delicious large slice of pizza plus a large sized drink for only a hundred plus pesos? of course everyone wants an affordable tasteful meal but for you to taste it, you have to be a member of S&R Shopping which will cost you Php 700 for membership and Php 400 for the extension.

As an inconsistent shopper of this famous membership shopping establishment, I became very happy when I discovered that their food service is available in Puregold Cubao! (Yes you are reading it right, S&R New York Pizza has a branch in Puregold Cubao)
Knowing this made me excited because they will not ask you for a membership card and that means you can tag along a lot of your friends; though if you are a member you will have a 5 percent since the price is cheaper inside the S&R Membership Shopping.

So these are the foods that I usually order when I have a time to visit there:

Cheap Yummy Snacks - Potato Giant

You don't need to spend too much just to eat a tasteful snack.. I discovered a food stall named Potato Giant in the supermarket area of Megamall that sells processed potato products like fries and hash-browns, what I like about this food stall is that they sell their products cheaper than their competitor, it even surpassed the competitor's food taste.

Here are the snacks that I tried:

Zomans at Akira: The Art of Sushi and Teppanyaki

Last Thursday (October 9, 2014) I was Invited for another foodie meet up by Zomato at Akira Shangrila Plaza. Akira is a teppanyaki restaurant where they feature the art of teppanyaki; a japanese artistic style of cuisine where they use iron griddle to cook food. Akira is named after a fictional character in Japan. He is legendary teppanyaki chef  who trained to fought a fire God kagutsuchi to save his beloved Sayuri, same as Akira PH  teppanyaki chefs who are also trained to showcase their teppanyaki skills to cook and entertain the guest.

Akira offers premium items such as U.S. Tenderloin, U.S. Wagyu Rib-Eye, Japanese Wagyu and Kobe that can be served a la carte or a set that includes a miso soup, chicken, fried rice, shrimps and veggies but you can also order other Japanese dishes such as sushi, sashimi, ramen, tempura, tonkatsu and bentos!

Upon entering Akira, I got captivated by the interior design of the restaurant. I found out that there were already four branches of Akira in Metro Manila but the theme of every restaurant is unique, Here in Shangri-la the theme was modernized Japan while others have traditional.

Dinner with officemates at Kanto Freestyle Breakfast

As a typical Filipino we always look for a 24-hour open restaurants or eatery like the Lugawan, Tapsilugan and Sizzling but who would have thought that there is this kind of eatery in the metro that offers a cheap breakfast meal but has high sophistication when it comes to food plating. I actually saw it on TV while watching Rated K where they have been featured as an eatery that serves Filipino and American breakfast at a very cheap price! Yes very cheap like you can eat there even if you only have a hundred pesos in your wallet that is why it became one of the place that I wished I could dine at.
So yesterday I became very vocal with my office mates about what are some restaurants that I want to try in Kapitolyo and I also included Kanto Freestyle Breakfast then luckily my supervisor knows the place and even suggested that we should dine there sometime but since I couldn't wait and I was very excited to try it, I asked some of my office mates if they want to eat there! haha and I became victorious on pursuing them.. We had our dinner there last night!

Food: Their house specialty is actually were New Zealand Beef Tapa, Vigan Longannisa and pancakes but sadly the tapa and longganisa was not available because it was sold out already. Truly their foods were really yummy and affordable and I want to come back here to try another set of foods.

So here are some of the foods I tried:

Fridate at Mad Mark's Creamery and Good Eats

So I crave for a steak and then I remember that my friend told me about Mad Mark's. He said that this restaurant offers an appetizing steaks for a very affordable price that's why my boyfriend and I decided to have dinner at Glorietta 5 branch together with my best friend.
Upon seeing the restaurant I learned that the queuing is really a box office so we make a reservation first and guess what?! We were on the 21st spot wait listed customers at 8 o clock in the evening. I was really surprised that people were really patient to wait just to eat there that's why I became more curious and more encouraged to taste the foods there.
So like others we waited patiently, well you don't have to stay there and wait because they will get your name and digits to personally call you, so you can still stroll in the mall.
After one and a half hour of waiting we were able to dine in!  Well I don't recommend this place for people who are really hungry because you will get impatient of the queuing but it's a good idea to make reservation first before strolling in the mall so when you finish buying your things or doing your business there you can just dine there or you'll just have to wait a little.

Foods:
So this is our orders, we requested for a three extra plates so we can share our foods.

Zomato Foodie Meet Up at Banzai

Luckily I was chosen to be part of the food bloggers meet up at Banzai organized by Zomato Philippines. Zomato is an online and mobile application where you can find different restaurants according to place, types of cuisine or budget. This is a great help for any foodie like me because it gives users info about the menu and the cost so you can be ready to budget your money and you already know what to expect or order because of the ratings and reviews of the other users.
Ms. Elaine Taningco the community manager of Zomato told us that they really arrange a foodie meetup every week to give thanks to those people who uses the Zomato app. and for this week they chose Banzai to be the venue. So Yeah! I'm so lucky not just because it is free but also I was given the chance to meet other bloggers like me!

Banzai is a Japanese buffet restaurant where you can discover a lot of authentic Japanese dishes like sukiyaki, ramen, tempura, yakiniku, takoyaki, katsu, sushi and sashimi, teppanyaki which is the signature meal of the restaurant and so many to mention jap dishes!  The name was actually Banzai: The Great Teppanyaki Theater because they feature skilled teppanyaki chefs who are putting up a fire cooking show and some knife exhibition. I learned that this restaurant also belongs to the High Jap Group whom they also own the famous restaurants: Sumo Sam, Mr. Kurosawa, John and Yoko, Teddy Bigger Burgers etc.

Rodillas Yema Cake

My bestfriend went to Quezon last Saturday so I texted her to buy me a RODILLAS YEMA CAKE.
I was very curious of its taste because some of my facebook friends posted pictures of it. Luckily she replied yes and told me that the price is P180 for a small box which is cheaper than buying into food stalls in the mall. I think the mall SRP for this small box is P250, well maybe because of their efforts, travel or gas expense in buying this cake makes the mall price higher. So it is still reasonable for 250 pesos.

Solaire Resort and Casino Foodcourt

Even in a five-star hotel like Solaire Resort and Casino you can still find affordable foods to eat. They have a food court where they offer intercontinental cuisine and for only P150-P300 you can already enjoy one big serving meal.  Here are some of my orders during my stay at the hotel.

Sorry for my Blog Photos

Hi Guys,

Sorry for my blog photos I just used Low Res. Phone Camera on that. I'll definitely post new pictures as soon as I get back with those restaurants I made a review but for the mean time please bear with it. Thank you for understanding. :)

Tong Yang Hot Pot Restaurant Experience

This is one of my favorite buffet Tong Yang Hot Pot Restaurant, It offers Chinese, Japanese cuisine buffet selections like sushi rolls, siomai, siopao, yangchow and other chinese dishes and for only PHP585 you can already enjoy your dinner here with your family and friends or your lunch for only PHP399 at 11:00 AM to 2:30 PM Monday to Friday only.

The reason why I love this buffet rather than the famous Yakimix is because they have wide selections of food to barbecue! They have seafoods like shrimp, scallops, salmon, mussels, crabs etc. Meat like chicken, pork, beef, bacon, yakitori etc.

My friends also love the hotpot where they cook noodles using the chicken soup (they have wide variation of noodles eg. sotanghon, udon etc.) and they also lovw to make a beef sinigang with lots of kangkong and labanos. Tong Yang  base soups selection were chicken, sate and sinigang. We always get the sinigang.

About their desserts, they usually have 2 cakes from Goldilucks, they also have halo-halo, ice cream from Big Scoop (love all the flavors, I usually topped it with pinipig) etc. can't remember all of it.. Drinks they have Mango Juice, Orange Juice, softdrinks they also have beer and soju.

Banapple Pies and Cheesecake

Banapple Pies and Cheesecake from the name itself we can tell that their specialty are desserts but since I am not a sweet tooth my boyfriend and I just tried their entrees. I saw a lot of customers ordered Blueberry Cheesecake, Garlic Beef Tapa with Creamed Parsley Eggs and Baked Creamy Cheesy Penne (which is the pasta I want to try next time) but we ordered different because upon scanning the menu we ordered these three entrees that made my mouth water...
